Save Rhino's Back and Lioness Head Rock Formations of Norzagaray

Let us unite in saving Norzagaray's Lioness' Head and Rhino's Back (located in Bigte) along with the caves beneath these cliffs. These beautiful rock formations which offer a 360 degree view of the town and its neighboring areas are now closed to the public and face the danger of being quarried.  Like the Kapurpurawan Rock Formation of Burgos, Ilocos, and Biri Rock Formation of Biri Island, Northern Samar, the Lioness' Head and Rhino's Back Rock Formations had been drawing crowds in droves for months now till its closure last 20 March 2014. Spar Development Corporation, Inc. who is claiming the rights to quarry said limestone hills ordered barangay officials to warn local guides about entering and bringing visitors to the area or they will be charged with trespassing.

I urge those who have been to these rock formations to join us in protecting two of Norzagaray's natural gems.  Like the lion, we will roar until our lawmakers and other concerned government officials and offices find a way to stop these limestone cliffs from being quarried.

These photos were taken inside the caves of Lioness' Head Rock Formation. According to Ryan, a local guide, there are caves in both the Lioness and Rhino Rock Formation so we are hoping that it could be the key to saving it because caves, under R.A. 9072 or the National Caves and Cave Resources Management and Protection indicates that it should be protected at all cost.

Romblon: Take 2

Like I said before, I am truly captivated by the beauty of Romblon that I couldn't pass up the opportunity to come back and experience it once again.  Also, I am excited to see the places and beaches I failed to go to during my first visit here.

Romblon didn't disappoint me. There is so much more to see but so little time.

This is the view that made a former National geographic correspondent stay in Romblon with Filipina girlfriend.  From the top of his house, you can enjoy this breathtaking vista

"Tamad Moment"

I have not written anything since I came back from a recent trip to Romblon.  I wanted to enrich what I previously wrote about this town which has completely captivated me but I couldn't, at least not yet.  Many call this phase a "writer's block" but I'm not a writer in the real sense of the word.  I call this my "tamad moment".  It is taking too long, though.  Imagine if writing was my bread and butter, I would have starved myself to death a long time ago. God is smart, he forced me to choose another career, hehe!

MANILART 2012

Come and see MANILART 2012! It is the largest art fair happening today in the country. More than 40 art galleries joined the fair and features about 500 artists.

It is a must see event.  I went there yesterday and enjoyed going around and checking out the artworks.

MANILART 2012 is held at Hall 4 of the SMX Convention until 8pm of October 6, 2012.
